Photography is a passion I stumbled upon somewhat by accident. After planning my wedding in 2009, I became somewhat obsessed by the gorgeous and creative artwork produced by local wedding and portrait photographers. My very talented wedding photographer captured images of me and my husband that left me breathless. I wanted to be able to recreate that emotion for other people. So, my husband bought my first camera for me for Christmas in 2009 and I held my first photo shoot in the Spring of 2010.
Since having my own son in 2012, photography has taken on a different meaning for me. It is a pleasure to be able to capture the joy and life of your family through a photograph. If you’re looking for the typical all smiles, everybody looking perfect photographs, then I may not be the photographer for you. But if you want to capture that sneaky grin of your Little Angel or the sly handsomeness of your Senior, then you’ve found the right photographer. While traditional shots are a small part of every session, I strive to provide you with a photograph that really captures the personality of your family.
I specialize in on-location photography, using both natural and artificial light, to create a one-of-a-kind portrait experience. I love to shoot images of your family in places that are most special to you, whether it’s at your own home or that perfect outdoor retreat. My style is photojournalistic–capturing your story in pictures. I don’t have a checklist of poses for your family, rather I seek to catch your family in poses that are reflective of you.
I am located in Oconee County, South Carolina but will travel within the tri-county area at no additional cost. Please contact me for mileage rates outside this area.
When I’m not behind the camera, you will probably find me working in my day job as high school educator, spending time with my husband and my toddler son, or training my Border Collies for stockdog competitions (aka Herding Sheep like in the move Babe). I’m also very active in my church where I sing with the Praise Band. My family, my faith in God, and my furry, four-legged friends all help me to maintain balance and love in my life.
